LifeCell: It’s Pretty Bad When a Company Can’t Tell You From Where they Source Their Palm Oil

slide1-test

I saw this advertisement on the intertubes.  It piqued my interest but I was concerned about its palm oil code words on the label.  So I wrote my usual death, deforestation and destruction, anti-palm oil email to query them.  In fact I sent them FOUR emails and only received a response when I got hot with righteous indignation.

Here’s their troubling response:

Thanks for writing. I’d be happy to assist you.

I apologize I did not receive your emails.

I believe there is a glitch with the server and management is currently looking into this matter.

I have provided you with all the information that is accessible to me…(Emphasis mine.)

Have a wonderful day and do not hesitate to write again if I can be of more help.

Best Regards,

I have provided you with all the information that is accessible to me“???!!!  Which is nothing?!    That is bogus in this day and age — that a company cannot quickly point to a palm oil policy for environmentally-minded consumers.  So I wrote again:

I am purposely urging a boycott of your product because you cannot tell me where you source your palm oil from — and in this day and age that’s an environmental crime.

And:

But PLEASE TELL YOUR MANAGEMENT that I am boycotting your product because of the no-answer on palm oil sourcing.  I will also post your response to my palm oil inquiry on my anti-palm oil blog — and urge OTHERS to BOYCOTT your product until we are satisfied that the environment is not being destroyed for a silly vanity product.

Naturally I haven’t heard back.
