Another 86 Elephants Slaughtered in Chad for Asian Ivory Demand

I’m so infuriated…and hopeless in the wake of so much cruelty, greed and insane Asian ivory demand in goddamned 2013.

Story here:

http://m.guardiannews.com/environment/2013/mar/19/86-elephants-chad-poaching-massacre

On top of the 26 killed last week in Cameroon, 86 more soulful, intelligent elephants were hunted down, murdered and butchered in adjacent Chad (by the same Arabic-speaking gang apparently). 33 were pregnant mothers! This would put elephant conservation back some 20 years in a good environment. But now? It’s horrific. Elephant numbers in this area were 150,000 just 30 years ago. That has dropped to 2,000 now.

Kill these poachers. Shoot first ask questions later. Torture is too good for them. And their conspirators. And their Asian buyers.

What I don’t get is if these poachers were seen, described as 50 Arabic-speaking, heavily-armed horsemen, and ID’d as the same Sudanese gang who killed a whopping 650 elephants in last Feb. 2012, then somebody knows something. Use this info to hunt them down and kill them like the pests they are.

There needs to be a deterrent. It’s death.
