While 40,000 Citizens Rally Against Climate Change, Obama Plays Golf With Oil Men

From alterNet:

Talk about bad optics. How does it look when President Obama, who suddenly and somewhat cowardly, just recently got his climate change groove back after going silent running during the campaign, plays golf in sunny Florida with Big Oilmen Jim Crane and Milton Carroll (and Tiger) while 40K of his constituents sacrificed their comfort to rally for climate change action — and against approval of the Keystone XL pipeline — in chilly Washington?!

And here’s this from Huffington Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/20/obama-climate-protest_n_2719338.html:

…”[T]he president chose to spend his free time with Jim Crane and Milton Carroll, leading figures in the Texas oil and gas industry, along with other men who run companies that deal in the same kinds of carbon-based services that Keystone would enlarge. They hit the links at the Floridian Yacht and Golf Club, which is owned by Crane and located on the Treasure Coast in Palm City, Fla.

Yeah, that’s just so socialist of Obama. So Marxist. So anti-business.

Sadly, that’s just so America — where big money and big business have easy access to our leaders.  How tone deaf does Obama appear? — unless Obama was breaking the news to him gently that he would not approve Keystone.

  1. We cannot look to politicians to solve worldwide critical issues, they are too busy focusing on politics and not on issues (especially Obama). It is now up to the international community to effect change and solution.
