Legendary British naturalist and documentarian expressed my thoughts precisely:
“We [humans] are a plague on the Earth.”
“Either we limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us, and the natural world is doing it for us right now,” he said.
Humans don’t deserve this beautiful planet. Please name another species that kills for sport? Consumes more than they need? Destroys their own habitat for self-enrichment?
Of course, Mr. Attenborough’s thoughts aren’t unique. Many of the world’s top environmental scientists agree. Hell, even Classical Economist Thomas Malthus theorized (to paraphrase) that nature itself would have to return unsustainable human populations back to some sort of sustainable level.
