Stop Dr. Oz from selling out to big food companies that harm the environment.

My favorite charitable environmental organization, Orangutan Outreach, who doggedly works to protect orangutans in their native habitat while providing care for orphaned and displaced orangutans until they can be returned to their natural environment, has teamed with Rainforest Action Network (RAN) to demand that Dr. Oz stop his promotion of palm oil.

So in the name of all those orangutans treated as pests (and killed) by the greedy palm oil-industrial complex, and in the memory of Rebecca Tarbotten, RAN’s devoted Executive Director who died unexpectedly at the far too-young age of 39 while vacationing over Christmas holiday, please send an email to the show and its producers: Here’s the link:

It’ll only take a second but it’ll make a world of difference.

UPDATED:  1/24/2013:  As expected, Dr. Oz’s ridiculous palm oil industry-inspired (probably) recommendation to use palm oil as a miracle cure has meant more high demand.  According to RAN today:

According to news reports, Dr. Oz’s enthusiastic support for red palm oil inspired a buying frenzy.”

RAN has put together an updated petition.  Please sign AGAIN:
